CHRISTINE T. GRONNEBERG Christine Gronneberg went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ at the age of 92 on October 26, 2014 at the Cooperstown Medical Center, Cooperstown, ND. She was able to live in her house on the farm until one week before her death. Christine Tomina Sabby was born on January 19, 1922, the daughter of Torger and Annie (Swanson) Sabby in Dover Township. She was baptized on April 23, 1922, confirmed on October 10, 1937 and graduated from Dover School in 1940. She was united in marriage on July 17, 1941 to Arnold Gronneberg in Bremerton, WA and they were blessed for almost 49 years of marriage. In 1947 they came back to ND to start farming on the family farm. Christine loved being a wife, mother, homemaker, and later grandmother and great grandmother. She was active in Eidfjord Lutheran Church, Ladies Aid, Farmers Union and was a member of Hannaford Senior Citizens. Christine will always be remembered for her love of cooking and baking, especially her pies, chocolate chip cookies and brownies. She also loved playing cards with her family. Christine is survived by her children, Douglas Gronneberg, Hannaford, ND, Carol McConnell,(Bob) Bermuda Dunes, CA, Sandra Francis, West Fargo, ND, Lee Gronneberg (Tina), Valley City, ND. Her grandchildren are Kristen Rager (Jamie), Kimberly Williams (Greg), Heather Fraley (Justin), Nick Francis, James Gronneberg, Eric Gronneberg, and Emilee Olson-Gronneberg. Her great grandchildren are Kristian Rager, Kaythryn Rager, Taelea Johnson-Francis, Matthew Fraley, and Samuel Fraley. Christine was preceded in death by her husband Arnold in 1990, parents Annie and Torger Sabby, one sister Alma Miklethun and two brothers, Oscar Peterson and Theodore Sabby. Christine's family would like to extend their appreciation for the exceptional care and loving support provided by the staff at the Cooperstown Medical Center as well as all the friends and relatives who stopped by to visit, send cards and shared prayers. The funeral services will be at 11:00, Thursday, Oct. 30 at Eidfjord Lutheran Church rural Walum. Visitation will be Wednesday October 29, 2014 from 5:00 till 7:00 in the Quam-Plaisted-Cushman Funeral Home in Cooperstown, ND and one hour before services in the Church. A Prayer Service will be 7:00 Wednesday, October 29 at Quam-Plaisted-Cushman Funeral home in Cooperstown, ND. Interment is at Eidfjord Cemetery.
