MERLIN R. ALM Merlin R. Alm, 75, Finley, ND died Friday, August 12, 2016 in the Luther Memorial Home, Mayville, ND under the care of Hospice of the Red River Valley. Merlin was born September 30, 1940 in Bismarck, ND the son of Marvin and Randi (Kettleson) Alm. He lived with his parents and two sisters in Regan, ND. Merlin moved to northern California in 1964. In 1974 he moved back to ND for a short time. In late spring of 1975 he met Shirley Moe. Later they moved to Vallejo, CA. Merlin spent most his life working in civil engineering. In 2006 he and Shirley retired and moved back to ND. Merlin enjoyed traveling, camping, old cars and car shows. He and Shirley traveled to most of the 50 states as well as many cities and National Parks in Canada. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Darlene Rosendahl. He will be deeply missed by his wife, Shirley, Finley, ND; two sons, Kellin (Deene) of Benicia, CA, Rollin (Rebecca) Somerset, WI; four grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
