Donald Lee Fors Donald Lee Fors of Binford, ND passed away peacefully at his home early Sunday morning, August 2, 2015. Donald was born on December 7, 1935 in Griggs County, the son of Palmer and Pauline (Nelson) Fors. He received his education from Cooperstown schools. Don grew up on the family farm learning at a young age how to raise beautiful crops, and many farm animals. On March 11, 1955 he married his high school sweatheart Marcella Anderson, daughter of Leonard and Sara Anderson, Cooperstown. Don and Marcy celebrated 60 years of marriage on March 11, 2015. They began farming on their own in 1954. He especially loved his horses teaching his children how to ride with the passion he had. Even during the busy farming months, Don would take his wife and children on family trips creating memories that will never be forgotten. Retirement came in 2007 for him, but he continued to give guidance and assistance to others. He then began working on a couple of collector John Deere tractors preparing them to be parade ready. Don’s men coffee hour group gave him much pleasure; searching nearby towns for just the right table to share lives experiences. He cherished those friendships that were created. Another past time was competing with his great-granddaughter, Taylin on completion of jig zaw puzzles. Grandpas are there to help children get into mischief that they haven’t thought of yet. He loved his family. Love the people God gave you – One day He is going to need them back. Donald is survived by his wife, Marcy; daughter, Sharon (Wayne Burgard) Fors and son, Steven (Rhonda) Fors; two sisters Betty Maier and Phyllis (Richard) Erickson; six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, father and mother-in-law, a niece and nephew and numerous aunts and uncles. Visitation: Wednesday, August 5, 2015 from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm followed by a prayer service 6:30 pm at Quam-Plaisted-Cushman Funeral Home in Cooperstown.
