For now we see in a mirror indirectly, but then we will see face to face. Now I know in part, but then I will know fully, just as I have been fully known (1 Corinthians 13:12). Darlyne Wileman passed away June 11th 2017 at St Joseph’s Medical Center in Brainerd MN. And now she sees face to face the One she loved and to which she devoted her life, Jesus Christ. Darlyne was born on March 18th 1927 to Frank and Ella Albright on a homestead in Red Canyon near Edgemont SD. Darlyne was born Ruth Darlyne Albright but she was never known by her legal first name. Her siblings called her Darl or Di or even Lynnie, but never Ruth. A unique spelling that came from her dad, for a unique little lady with auburn hair. She spent her early years with siblings on the homestead during the depression, eating garden produce and playing with rocks and sticks that were imagined as galloping horses. Her sister Caroline was as much her mother as her mother was. Including leading her into a relationship with Jesus in around 5th grade. Once into her teens she all but moved in with Caroline and her husband Barney. And their family became her second family while she attended high school, and during summers through College. While attending Central Bible Institute in Springfield MO, she met and fell in love with Donivan Wileman. Another auburn haired South Dakotan. They were ministering together in what they termed an outstation church in the Ozark Mountains. At first she resisted him saying “I’ll never wear heels again!” because Donivan was only 5’6”, and so was Darlyne! Darlyne had finished her degree in Bible and was ahead of Don in school, and so she worked at Gospel Publishing House in Springfield while her husband finished his degree. They wed July 7th 1955 before Donivan finished his schooling in 1956, and was ordained as a minister in the Assemblies of God. Donivan and Darlyne began their ministry pastoring Hulett Wyoming 1956-61, followed by Hettinger ND 1961-66, Williston ND 1966-69. Donivan, Darlyne and family spent a year out of the ministry first in Hermiston OR and then Edgemont SD. They then returned to ministry pastoring in Finley ND 1970-81. Donivan was Camp Caretaker for the ND Assemblies of God in 1981. They returned to pastor in Finley August 1981-83. Then pastored Newell SD from 1984-91. Served Teen Challenge in Brookings SD from 1991-93 and retired to Finley in October 1993. Darlyne also spent many years teaching young people how to play the piano. Darlyne remained in Finley after the death of her husband in September 2011, until December of 2013. At that time she moved into the home of her son Dan and his wife Joan in Brainerd MN. Then in December of 2015 she moved into the Good Samaritan Oakwood House in Brainerd. Darlyne dedicated her life as a servant of the King. She would often divert attention from herself and give glory to God for all she had done. She was a loving mother to her sons, and wife to her husband, a knowledgeable bible teacher in the church and loved her interdenominational women’s bible study in Finley. When she wasn’t working on her expansive garden, she spent her life growing other people in their relationships with the Lord Jesus. Darlyne is survived by her sisters Caroline Curl and Joanne Thompson; four sons: David (Jody) - West Fargo, Duane (Janis) - Neche ND, Dennis (Ruth) - Fargo ND, Dan (Joan) -Brainerd MN, 12 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. Darlyne was preceded in death by her husband Donivan, her parents and her siblings Rose, Frank, Catherine, and Mazie. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the funeral service at the Finley Assembly of God church Thursday June 15th at 2pm. Interment will be at the Finley cemetery.
