Funeral services will be Thursday January 14, 2010 at 10:30 a.m. at the Luverne Lutheran Church, Luverne ND. Visitation will be Wednesday, January 13, 2010 from 5:00-7:00 p.m. in the Quam-Plaisted-Cushman Funeral Home in Cooperstown, ND and one hour before services in the church. A Prayer Service will be held at 7:00 p.m. in the Funeral Home. Burial will be in the spring in the Hofva Lutheran Cemetery, Finley, ND. Warren C. Peterson, 82, of Finley, ND, died Sunday, January 10, 2010 in the Aneta Health Care Center in Aneta, ND. Warren was born September 2, 1927 on the family farm near Finley, the son of William and Cora (Johnson) Peterson. He was baptized, confirmed and a lifelong member of the Hofva Lutheran Church until its closing after which time he became a member of the Luverne Lutheran Church. He worked for the Lemna Oil Co. and the Sheperd Elevator Co., both of Cooperstown. Warren was a member of the Riverside Township Board for many years and he and his sons did grave opening and closing for several funeral homes for 30 years. He married Esther Fredrickson on September 2, 1949. They farmed until retiring in 2006. He is survived by his wife Esther of 60 years, daughter Cheryl (Daniel) Lee; two sons, Gary, and Michael (Cheryl); 5-grandsons, Brian (Donna) Lee, Patrick Lee, Derrick Lee, Matthew, Joshua (Cassy) Peterson, one granddaughter, Danielle (Jarrod) Lindemann; two great granddaughters, Tessa and Melanie Lee, one great grandson, Alex Lee, two sisters, Alvina Ott, Constance Loge, one brother Clarence (Peggy) Peterson; one sister-in-law, Isabelle Peterson; many nieces and nephews.
