LEO J. GEIGER Leo Joseph Geiger, 85, Cooperstown, ND died Sunday, November 11, 2012 in the Griggs County Care Center, in Cooperstown, ND Leo Joseph was born December 16, 1926 at Jessie, ND the son of Joseph and Alvina (Zimprich) Geiger. Leo attended Pilot Mound Twsp. Country School and went to high school at St. Catherine’s in Valley City where he graduated in 1945. In January 1946 he entered the US Army and was honorably discharged in 1947. Leo married Dorothy Sande, June 27, 1949 at St. George Catholic Church in Cooperstown, ND. Leo farmed from many years in the Binford and Jessie area. A joy of Leo’s was playing cards. Leo and Dorothy retired and moved to Cooperstown, ND in August 2001. After moving to Cooperstown, ND Leo still got to take part in farming by helping Scott Liljenquist. Leo and Dorothy entered the Griggs County Care Center in March of 2011. Dorothy passed away May 14, 2012. Leo is survived by a son Darrell (Beverly Warnica) Ypsilanti, ND; son-in-law, Leslie Pratt, Cooperstown, ND; grandchildren; Melanie Pratt, Cooperstown, ND, Joseph Geiger, Jamestown, ND, Michelle (Adam) Middlestead, Aneta, ND, Phillip (Kacy) Geiger, Fargo, ND, Andrew Warnica, Ypsilanti, ND; brothers and sisters-in-law, Leonard (Evelyn) Geiger, Valley City, ND, Lawrence (Helen) Geiger, Cooperstown, ND; step-sister and brother -in-law, Arlene (Frank) Heinz, Cooperstown, ND, step- sister Sister Margaret Rose Pfeifer, Fargo, ND, brother-in-law, DuWayne Sande, Fargo, ND and many cousins, nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Alvina; step-father William Pfeifer; father and mother-in-law Oscar and Hattie Sande; daughter, Cheryl Pratt, infant grandson, Chezera Geiger; sister, Mary Fode; sisters-in-law, Shirley Bjugson, Ethel Olson, brothers-in-law, Orville Sande, Bud Bjugson, Gary Fode, Roy Olson, aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. Funeral Services will be Friday, November 16, 2012 at 11:00 am in St. Lawrence Catholic Church in Jessie, ND. Visitation will be Thursday, November 15, 2012 from 5:00 till 7:00 pm in the Quam-Plaisted-Cushman Funeral Home in Cooperstown, ND and one hour before services in the Church. A Prayer Service will be Thursday, November 15, 2012 at 7:00 pm in the Funeral Home. Interment will be in St. George Cemetery, Cooperstown, ND at 1:30 Friday.
