VERNON M. FUGLESTAD Vernon Fuglestad, 92, Cooperstown, ND died Saturday, June 22, 2019 in the Griggs County Care Center, Cooperstown, ND. Vernon was born November 8, 1926 near Luverne, ND the son of Thorwald and Inga (Nevland) Fuglestad. He grew up and attended rural school there. He attended Hanson Auto School in Fargo where he graduated with a degree in Auto Mechanics. He served in the United States Air Force. After being discharged he returned to North Dakota. On December 31, 1953 he married Ramona Larson in Finley, ND. The couple made their home in Cooperstown, ND. Vernon worked as an auto mechanic, salesman and Griggs County Sheriff. Ramona passed away in 2004. Vernon continued to make his home in Cooperstown fixing appliances and working on small engines. He entered the Griggs County Care Center July of 2014. Vernon was a deacon for the Untied Presbyterian Church, Sons of Norway and Cooperstown American Legion Post #143. He is survived by son, Keith (Lori), Glendale AZ; two daughters, Denise (Joel) Haugen, Williston, ND, Nadine (Steve) Quam, Rochester, MN; brother, Ralph Fuglestad, Northwood, ND; sister, JoAnn Nellermoe, Portland, ND; sisters-in-law, Margaret Fuglestad, Mayville, ND, Coyla Kunze, Valley City ND; brother-in-law, Mike (Susie) Larson, Scottsdale, AZ and one great grandchild, Aubrea Lommen, Grand Forks, ND. Vernon was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Ramona; son, Ivan; granddaughter, Stacy; grandson, Brandon and several brothers. Visitation will be Thursday, June 27, 2019 from 5:00 till 7:00 in the Quam-Plaisted-Cushman Funeral Home, Cooperstown, ND with a Prayer Service at 7:00, visitation will continue Friday, June 28, 2019 from 10:00 till 11:00 in the Trinity Lutheran Church, Cooperstown, ND followed by a funeral at 11:00.
