Julianne H. Urness Julianne Henrietta Urness, 91, Cooperstown, ND, died Sunday, November 4, 2018 in the Griggs County Health Center, Cooperstown, ND. Julianne H. Urness was born September 22, 1927 in Bear Park, MN, the daughter of Henry and Theresa (Christianson) Erickson. She married Edward Urness August 7, 1947 in Twin Valley, MN. Prior to marriage, she was a country schoolteacher. Upon marriage, the couple farmed in the Cooperstown area for many years before moving into Cooperstown in 1984. Julianne worked several years as an assistant activity directory at the nursing home and later volunteered in the beauty shop at the nursing home. She drove the South Central Van for several years, which Julianne found rewarding as the riders appreciated her very much. Julianne taught Sunday school, participated in Quilting, and held many officer positions for Circle and Ladies Aid at Trinity Lutheran Church. She was also involved in the community as a volunteer at More for Less Thrift store. She enjoyed babysitting her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Julianne enjoyed fishing, dancing, camping, playing cards, traveling and having birthday breakfasts with her friends. She was a dynamic woman who enjoyed visiting with friends and family. She had never met a stranger. Julianne is survived by her children, Linda (Daryl) Jalbert, Detroit Lakes, MN, Brenda Kay (Michael) Anderson, Bismarck, ND, Eva Jane Butler, Fargo, ND, LuAnn (Michael) Heinz, Ellendale, ND, Mark (Kelly) Urness, Cooperstown, ND; 15 grandchildren, 31 great grandchildren, and 1 great great grandchild; sister, Sheila Faye Peterson, and brother, Thomas Erickson. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, sister, Donna Mae Peterson, and brother, Donovan Erickson. Funeral services will be Saturday, November 10th at 11:00 AM at Trinity Lutheran Church, Cooperstown, ND. Visitation will be Friday, November 9th from 4:00 PM till 6:00 PM at the Quam-Plaisted-Cushman Funeral Home in Cooperstown, ND. Interment will be in the Cooperstown Cemetery, Cooperstown, ND.
