GEORGE A. STOCKLAND George Alfred Stockland, Lake Villa, IL, went to be with his Heavenly Father on July 11, 2011 at his daughter’s house in Dazey, ND. George was born in Cooperstown, ND on January 12, 1926 the son of George and Isabelle (Groven) Stockeland. He lived in Luverne until the age of 17, when he joined the US Navy during WWII and served four years. After a few years at his home in Luverne, George re-enlisted and served a total of 22 years retiring as a Senior Chief Petty Officer. He worked for Baxter Health Care for twenty years and retired in 1990 George was the loving husband of his wife for 49 years, Carolyn, and loving and proud father of Karen (Wayne) Dahl, Craig (Mary) Stockland and Laurie (George) Straub, proud papa to Dakota and Colten Straub, Grant Stockland and Jake Dahl. He is also survived by his brother, Tom (Marion) Stockeland, Binford, ND and many nieces and nephews and seven step-grandchildren. Memorial Services will be held Friday, July 15, 2011 at 4:00 pm in the Quam-Plaisted-Cushman Funeral Home in Cooperstown, ND. To send a flower arrangement or to plant trees in memory of GEORGE A.
