ORVILLE J. JACOBSON Orville Johan Jacobson, 92 of Finley, ND passed away Tuesday, September 24, 2013 at the Aneta Parkview Health Center in Aneta, ND. Orville was born September 7, 1921 in Finley Township to Jacob and Elisa (Thompson) Jacobson. He attended Sherbrooke school through the 8th grade. He farmed near Finley most of his life. He served in the Marines from March 17, 1945 to April 30, 1946. He married Shirley Peterson April 11, 1964 at Finley Lutheran Church in Finley. He lived most of his life in Sherbrooke Township up until 1991 when they moved into town. His lifelong passion was farming and he loved to dance to old time music. Orville loved his family and his greatest joy was spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandson. He will be remembered for his sense of humor and wonderful smile. Orville is survived by his wife of 49 years, Shirley, Finley; son Kelly (Gina) Jacobson, Finley; daughters Kathleen (Steve) Argall, Thompson, ND and Karen (Harry) Smith, Portland, ND; grandchildren; Kimberly, Michelle, Kristie and Kyle Jacobson; Danielle, McKenzie and Erik Argall; Kasie Smith and great-grandson Brayden Argall; sisters, Irene (Bob) Nygord, Finley and Edna Hansegard, Fargo; brothers, Willard (Donna) Jacobson, Finley; Norris Jacobson, Finley and Edwin (Marlys) Jacobson, Finley and several nieces and nephews. Orville was preceded in death by his parents, Jacob and Elisa; sisters, Adeline, Esther and Agnes; brothers, Elmer, Marvin and Robert; brother-in-laws, Gus Deltener, Melvin Hansegard, Roy Haugtvedt, Wayne Peterson and Jerry Visby; and nephew Elroy Jacobson. Funeral services will be Friday, September 27, 2013 at 2:30 pm in the Ostervold Lutheran Church, rural Finley, ND. Visitation will be Thursday, September 26, 2013 from 5:00 till 7:00 pm in the Quam-Plaisted-Cushman Funeral Home, Finley, ND and one hour before services in the Church. A Prayer Service will be Thursday at 7:00 pm in the Funeral Home. Interment will be at 4:30 pm Friday at the Sherbrooke Cemetery, rural Finley, ND.
