Don was family as far as my in-laws, Clarence and Vina Njaa were concerned. He tended both of their graves in the Cooperstown cemetery for our family. He was still family when 6 months ago I sent him a picture of the Njaa thresher crew from 1913. He was a wonderful man and will be dearly missed. My thoughts and prayers go out to his family and friends. Douglas Sande (husband of the late Nancy (Njaa) Sande

Our sympathies are with all of you in the loss of Don. We so much enjoyed Don as a fellow Legionaire, a good friend and a valued customer. Don played for so many activities, conventions, funerals and Memorial Day programs. I especially remember one Memorial Day when Don Played Taps while I recited the words for Taps. Not one to follow music, Don had to follow me, unrehearsed and he did it perfectly. Thank you Don for the memory. God bless Don and the memories he created. A memorial is being sent to The American Legion Band in memory of Don Loder. Art & Eunice Morlock

This is a huge loss for Cooperstown and all of us who knew Don. My dad, who worked for Arneson & Loder for about 50 years, thought the world of him and so did I. A nicer and more patriotic 5man is not to be found.
